Privacy policy
This website is the personal wedding invitation of Jennifer Nguyen and Anthony Bignoux (“we”, “us”). It exists so that the people we have invited can read their invitation and tell us whether they can come. This page explains what information the site holds, why, and what you can do about it.
We are private individuals running a website for a personal occasion, so the Australian Privacy Act 1988 does not strictly require a policy like this one. We have written it anyway, because it is your information and you deserve to know how it is handled.
What we collect
- Guest details we entered ourselves: your name, the name of your household or party, and which celebrations you are invited to. We may also have added an email address or mobile number we already had for you.
- Details you enter in the RSVP: whether each person is attending, an email address and/or mobile number so we can reach you, any dietary or accessibility needs, an optional song request, and the name of a plus-one if your invitation includes one.
- Technical records: when an invitation was first opened, when an RSVP was started or submitted, and a log of changes made to answers after they were submitted. Our hosting provider also keeps ordinary short-lived server logs (such as IP address and browser type) to run and secure the service.
We do not use analytics, advertising, tracking pixels or social media plug-ins on this site.
Why we use it
Only to plan and run our wedding: confirming numbers, seating, catering and accessibility arrangements, and getting in touch if we need to. We will not use your details for anything else, and we will never sell them.
Who can see it
- Jennifer and Anthony, through a password-protected admin page.
- Each household can only see and edit its own invitation. The password on your card opens your invitation only.
- Our venue and caterers may receive names together with dietary and accessibility needs, and nothing more, so they can look after you on the day.
- Our service providers, described below, who store the data on our behalf.
- Anthropic, whose Claude service helps us turn our own notes into seating rules when we plan the seating. It receives guests' names, which household each person belongs to and our own seating notes (such as which side of the family or a group of friends), and nothing else: no contact details, dietary or accessibility needs, or RSVP answers.
Where it is stored
The site is hosted on Vercel and the database is hosted on Railway. Both store data in the United States, so your information is held outside Australia. Both providers are bound by their own privacy and security commitments, and access is limited to the accounts we control. When we use the seating helper, the names it needs are sent to Anthropic in the United States to be processed and are not used to train its models. Connections to the site are encrypted (HTTPS).
How long we keep it
Until the wedding is over and thank-you notes are sent. We intend to delete the guest list and all RSVP information by 31 December 2027 and to close the site.
Your choices
You can review and change your RSVP at any time before the deadline by opening your invitation again. If you would like to see, correct or delete anything we hold about you, or if you have any concern, email us at jen.anth2210@gmail.com and we will sort it out promptly.
Cookies
The site uses one strictly necessary cookie to keep you signed in to your invitation. There are no advertising or analytics cookies. See the cookie policy.
Changes
If we change how the site handles information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
